Gunnera

Gunnera manicata: Z 6-9 South America. This is a giant perennial with leaves up to four feet across and up to ten or more feet tall.  Needs full sun with plenty of water or part shade with moderate water.  Very unusual blooms resembling cones. Mulch with maple leaves and it's old leaves to protect the crown over winter.  This is stately and upright.

Gunnera tinctoria: Z 6-9 South America.
