Attributes: Deciduous. Blooms summer. Plants are herbaceous, and will reach the maximum height in one seasons worth of growth. Clusters of white flowers in summer with purple black fruit in fall.
Notes: In the wild they often are found growing in the understory of coastal redwood rainforest. A spectacular foliage plant that combines well with other large foliage plants and natives.
Companion plants: Arisaema, Lilium, Aconitum, Gunnera, Hedychium.
