Podophyllum hexandrum (Himalayan Mayapple)

Attributes:  Deciduous, A flowering plant will have two umbrella like lobed leaves.  New growth emerges mottled with chocolate brown fading to green.  Single pinkish white flowers formed between the two leaves in spring.  Red fruit in summer.
Notes:  Also known as Sinopodophyllum hexandrum, Dysosma emodi and Podophyllum emodi.  Plant in a bit more sun than you would other Podophyllum species.  In the wild hexandrum grows in alpine meadows and open woodlands with other perennials and shrubs.
