Notes:  Collected by Dan Hinkley from Emei Shan.  Mulch tuber in fall since they are very shallow.  Will be evergreen in the upper 20s.  This is definitely one of the hardiest and best performing species Begonias for temperate climates.  Many Begonias are hardy but emerge so late in the season that it is hardy worth it.

Notes:  Well established clumps can have more than 100 individual stems, each with a bloom.  This species is closely related to Cyp. japonicum.  In the wild Cyp. formosanum grows in cool temperate mountains of Taiwan.  An easy grower that settles in quickly and fast to multiply.
