Attributes: Summer deciduous. Clumping rhizome. Rich yellow flowers emerging before the ferny foliage.

Notes: In the wild this species is found on slopes and in open forests. Lovely in large drifts and when mixed with early blooming blue flowers like Anemone and Hepatica.
