Attributes: Deciduous. Blooms summer.  White flowers held in panicles.  Mature leaves are 8" - 15" long, oval, with parallel veins.

Notes:  Grows in meadows and open forests, often in large colonies.  Plant in a rock garden, sunny perennial garden, wetland garden, or edge of a woodland.  The pleated leaves are stunning and bold, complimenting fine textured foliage and airy blooms of companion  plants.

Companion plants:  Lilium, Camassia, Darmera, Rodgersia, Hedychium or Trillium, Erythronium, Lilium, Epimedium, Dactylorhiza, Primula.
