Attributes: Semi-evergreen.  Growth resembling Parrotia.  This form has thick, leathery leaves with deep green circled with light green.  Good autumn color, ranging from yellow to orange.  Red frilly flowers.
Notes: Parrotia-like structure and with showy red flowers when little else is blooming.  I find that paring this rare find with Sarcococca near the main entry is a good way to feel good during the doldrums of winter.

One of my top five favorite foliage plants
