Impatiens sp. (Hardy Impatiens)

Sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock.

Impatiens sp.  (Hardy Impatiens)

Zone:  6 - 9
Natural Range:  China; in Sichuan province
Soil:  Moist, humus rich
Light:  Shade, part sun
Attributes:  Deciduous, 18" tall.  Leaves are light green.  Blooms are pink late summer through fall.
Notes:  Collected by Darrel Probst in Sichuan China.  Grows very similar to I. omeana with tubular flowers late in the summer until frost.  For a moment it seemed to be the newly described I. qingchengshanica but my friend Mr. Impatiens thinks otherwise, so for now I am leaving it at that.  Either way, still a cool species.
Companion plants:  Epimedium, Rodgersia, ferns, Podophyllum, Disporum, Trillium, Paris, Smilacina, Actaea
