Notes: Grant Hadwin cut this revered tree down in a misguided protest against logging in Canada. He wondered why people only seemed to care about one tree and not a forest. A scramble to collect cuttings after the tree was cut down resulted in a few collections. There was even a book about written about it, The Golden Spruce. We have a couple of specimens that we have taken subsequent cuttings from.
