There are two other closely related species L. majoense and L. primulinum that are just as hard to find in cultivation. Like all species lilies, keep bulbs and roots cool by planting among other perennials and shrubs. The tops of the plants can take full sun. In the wild Lilium nepalense grows on grassy slopes and woodland margins between 7,000 and 8,500 feet elevation.
